Panel’s meetings

Other organizations involved: Cooperativa Equazione, Bottega del Mondo Domus Aequa

Facilitators: Andrea Ciantar, with the collaboration of Cinzia Coccia, Mariarita Peca, Flavia Adami, Luca Del Ferraro.

Programme: Also things have their own story. If everyday objects could speak, they could tell a lot on our and others’ cultures which – through these objects – we came to meet; on the mechanisms of production which often cause injustices and intercultural conflicts…We will try, during the meeting, to enter the stories of some special objects in order to know projects of alternative production and of fair trade. Moreover, we propone to participants to bring their own objects telling their respective stories…
The meeting is realized within the framework of the project “Stories of a Possible Europe”, Panels of citizens working on the theme of cultural dialogue through story telling methods, (Europe for Citizens Programme - European Union); www.possible-europe.eu

Title: “Within the stories’ theatre”

Programme: In our current times we have been assisting to the diffusion, in the different social fields, of an interest towards the knowledge and the awareness of the individual and common memories, which are considered an important patrimony for the development of the human and civic awareness of a community, but opportunity of knowledge and encounter among different cultures as well.
This fact is particularly important in contemporary Europe, so that it can really be useful to create more and more opportunities of narration and diffusion of the stories of European citizens. During the meeting we will treat this topic in theoretical terms as well as through video-narrations, moments of performance, readings and small proposals of autobiographical writing and telling.

Programme: Telling and listening is the main form to share and to create knowledge. We could say that we live within the stories…among all stories met everyday, there are some ones which propose us critical interpretations of the reality, the creation of “other possible worlds”. The meeting is aimed at exploring the social use of storytelling, which is here considered a tool of participation and intercultural dialogue.

Programme: The meeting with the other one is, first of all, the meeting with the representative of a different culture. The scenario can be represented by a travel or by everyday life in relation to friendship, love, job, paths which come to meet casually or intentionally.
